COVID-19: What we are doing to prioritize your health
The safety of our patients has always been our number one priority. At the time we are only seeing Emergency Patients. We are committed to keeping our patients healthy and will continue to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation daily. We have state-of-the-art infection control policies, procedures and systems in place that demonstrate a safe and infection-free delivery of oral healthcare that meet or exceed the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Standard Precautions for Dental Practices.
Patient Appointments: Effective March 17, 2020, all patients please call or text my office number at 405-943-8575 upon arriving in my parking lot. I am asking you to remain in your car until your operatory is ready. When your operatory is ready my staff will call or text you to come in. Upon entering the building, I will have you sanitize/sterilize at the front desk before your services are rendered. All patients will be asked to sanitize again before leaving the building. I am adhering to social distancing and keeping it under 6 people in my building at one time per the COVID-19 crises. If treatment is necessary, I am only seeing 1 patient at a time.
Sterilization Procedures: Please take comfort in knowing that we have always strictly adhered to CDC infection control standards. The foundation of our infection control procedures are based on requirements established by the CDC. Strict surface sterilization procedures are followed to clean and disinfect all operatory surfaces between patients and, after each use, all dental instruments are cleaned and heat sterilized in steam autoclave machines in individual sterile pouches.
Common Area Disinfecting: As a result of COVID-19 concern, we have taken added precautions in all areas of the office. All magazines and pamphlets have been removed. Lobby surfaces and patient restrooms are disinfected repeatedly throughout the day. This includes a thorough wipe down of all hard surfaces, including door handles, tables, chairs with Cavicide, a CDC-approved commercial sterilization agent. In addition, the area is sprayed with disinfectant, and hand sanitizer is available to all patients in the lobby and back office area.
